Deming is a fully Chinese baby boy who was born on November 17 with Down’s Syndrome. He is a U.S. citizen and is in California.
Deming’s mother became pregnant in China, and because it is illegal for her to have a second child, arrangements were made for her to give birth in the U.S. At the birth, it was discovered that the child had Down’s. The mother must return to China on January 11.
The birth father is in China. He must travel to a U.S. consulate to sign relinquishments.
This will be a Direct Parental Consent adoption. A family must have a current home study and highest priority will be given to families who live in California.
If a family lives outside CA, they must travel to CA and stay until the father signs consent and state clearance is obtained in both CA and your home state. This could be a significant wait of a month or more.
The agency fee, which includes birth mother counseling, and a translator for the birth mother, will be $7500. The new adoptive family will be responsible for all legal bills which should not come to over $8000. Travel costs are your responsibility.
Since the birth mother is leaving to return to China on January 11, we are in a crisis situation and need a family right away.

Money is our only barrier :(
ReplyDeleteSpreading the word!
ReplyDeleteWhy are people NOT lining up to take this beautiful boy ? I am in Australia and like big momma , money is the only object . I would love to bring him into my family
ReplyDeleteNyree
I am also in Australia. I didn't know that we could adopt from overseas!
ReplyDeleteI am pregnant atm, so can't really help him, BUT I will be looking into overseas adoption later, if I can save a life.
How long does it take to get a home study?
ReplyDeleteI'd take him too.... What a sweet sweet boy!
ReplyDeleteInternational adoptions are possible between most countries for those of you in Australia or elsewhere!
A home study can be rushed... In our case with Hunter, our update was completed in 2 Weeks but an original home study can take longer due to having to wait on paperwork from states.
I'd love to know if anyone has inquired on him! I am so thankful that so many of you have shared his story ... How amazing it would be if your shares led his family to him!!
